Henry Borgmann, at left was appointed to the department on December 1, 1947. He rose to the rank of Captain and served at Engine Company 12 on Circle Avenue. His son Glenn, born in 1950, played baseball at Kennedy High School, college (Miami Dade and South Alabama) and then was drafted ninth overall in the 1971 major league amateur draft as a catcher by the Minnesota Twins. He had an 8 year career.

From the NY Giants: The “Adopt A Firehouse” program was created following September 11 to recognize the sacrifices that firefighters make on a daily basis, and to thank them for their dedication to the communities in which they live.

Anthony Camal was an American teacher, high school coach and former PFD Firefighter who was a national and international competitor in judo. Camal was originally instructed in Judo by his father Bill Camal and Camal earned a bronze medal in the 1989 National Championships in Judo. He was a seven-time New Jersey state champion in Judo and won the World Police and Firefighters championships in 2001, and took silver in 2003. Camal held the Annual Camal Judo North Eastern Championship for at least 14 years. As a coach he produced many junior national, senior national and international competitors. Camal received a 2012 Firefighter Award for Valor from the PFD and injured his back as a result of his duties as a firefighter
