October 15, 1981 Tenement Fire

Paterson firemen responded to an alarm from Station 11 at 2:58 AM for a tenement fire at 87-89 Park Ave. On arrival all four floors of the first building were engulfed in flames resulting in 4 alarms. AT left: FF Joe Parkin Sr in window & FF William Taylor on fire escape. A mother and child found under bed in that room, with the mother covering her child's body to protect him. Another fatality was just inside the window where FF Parkin is.
