T-1's ladder pipe up, but not working, at the right, very early in the fire. First alarm companies tried to make the seat of the fire in the basement. Companies were withdrawn when it was found that the fire had progessed already to the upper floors You can see fire in the middle of the bldg on the third floor. All openings were covered with metal sheets, which made putting out fire difficult
